As of early March 2026, drought conditions in eastern Massachusetts have worsened to Level 3-Critical Drought in the Northeast Region and Level 2-Significant Drought in the Southeast and Cape Cod regionsdue to persistent precipitation deficits since 2024. Approximately 22% (2324 square miles) of Massachusetts is under drought conditions and 22% (2385 square miles) is abnormally dry. Despite recent winter snow, frozen ground has limited water recharge. To help the town manage its water resources, Wilmington is offering discounted Rain Barrels residents.

Special Note about Color of the Unpainted Rain Barrel
Barrels come in black or gray, we cannot guarantee which color will be available at time of distribution. If color is important please select either painted Nantucket Gray or Earth Brown (almost black.) Currently we do not have any gray barrels available, this may change at the distribution.
Barrels ship with spigot, plugs, screen, lid overflow valves, flex tube and instructions inside the barrel. The only additional accessories you may want to consider are the Diverter and the Polished River Stones.
