Use A Rain Barrel.
The Town of Jamestown is partnering with the Great American Rain Barrel Company to encourage residents to use rain barrels as part of a water conservation program. Rainwater, stored in rain barrels, can be used for watering gardens, lawns, washing cars, and many other non-potable purposes. Rainwater is not chlorinated, so it is great for plants and lawns. Whether you get your water from municipal water supply or private well, using rainwater reduces water demand. Collected rain water helps during times of drought and aids in controlling runoff during heavy rains. When rain arrives in torrents, diverting some into rain barrels helps to slow runoff and limits erosion.

Barrels ship with spigot, plugs, screen, lid overflow valves, flex tube and instructions inside the barrel. The only additional accessories you may want to consider are the Diverter and the Polished River Stones.
