The Great American Rain Barrel is made from 3/16″ polyethylene. It is food grade, UV protected and BPA free. The barrels are used to store and ship brine based products such as olives, capers and peppers. The brine is made up of any combination of the following ingredients: vinegar, salt, water, lactic acid, sodium benzoate (as a preservative), potassium sorbate (as a preservative), sodium bisulfite (as a preservative) and occasionally FD&C yellow #5 food color (occasionally used for pepperoncini). Barrels are predominantly olive and caper barrels and occasionally we use pepper barrels. We do not guarantee which barrel you will get.
